Soon after I landed at York in January, I noticed that my housemates are not the cleanest people in the world. The fact that every Wednesday a housekeeper comes to our flat to clean the kitchen makes my mates mistakenly think that the kitchen doesn´t require any attention from them. Despite my preference of having a more frequently clean kitchen, let´s say that I can manage to live with some dirty cooker.
More seriously, I can´t wait 7 days looking at how the rubbish accumulates in the corner of a kitchen, so I quite frequently throw the rubbish away. Fortunately, one of my housemates probably has the same feelings, because in somehow we usually alternate in such a task. I had the suspicious that just one of them were so kind to look after everybody´s health, and in general I had the impression that my mates are a bunch of pigs which don´t mind living among rubbish...
No care about whatever you are, wherever you go, or whenever you come... Always there will be a model which will give you your wished answer... Be a model my friend !!!

Week's brief summary
I'll like to start this new refreshed blog by talking about some of the work I've been doing this week. Although the last weekend I had basically finished the assessment whose deadline was the 24th of April, I really spent some last editorial changes trying not to pass the 1000 words limit that was supposed to be for the 3 different reviews we had to do. It's doesn't look easy when you don't really know the final tool that is going to be used for that purpose: the only clue I had is "every word" counts...

What the hell was about this blog ?
If one have a look to the Blog Archive, one could suddenly realize that there has been like a big black hole during more than 3 years. What the hell was about it ? Well, basically hard work and other activities certainly non-related to publicly write to practice some use of English or sharing experiences through the broadband.

2º MoskittDay/EclipseDay
Hi Everybody,
Long time has passed since my last blog's entry (I know I was not able to keep my monthly entry frequency >.< ). However, I have decided to take these reports again. I'll try to make short entries so that keeping an acceptable rate of publications doesn't turn into a tedious task.
This time I want to mention the great conference I had last week in Valencia. The 2º MoskittDay/EclipseDay was a pleasant event to meet old friends and new one who I have been mailing since several months ago. Moskitt is an open source project sponsored by the Conselleria de Infraestructuras y transportes which tries to build a model-driven tool to aid the development of software applications.

Finally on Board
And it's done: "Welcome to Committer status on the Eclipse modeling.mdt.ocl project". Here, you can check that it's not fake (I don't know how many times Waratah my have checked that page during the last months ;P). We have to correct the project summary page, but at least I can proudly say that I'm finally an Eclipse's committer !!!!. Now, it's time to work. Galileo has finally released, and the OCL team has a lot of work for the next release: Helios. I think that we will enjoy.

Efforts are finally rewarded
Satisfying times are coming to my current proffesional situation. Just, take a look to the following note received by e-mail: "Adolfo Sanchez-Barbudo Herrera, This automatically message is to notify you that you have been nominated as a Committer on the OCL component of the modeling.mdt project...". Uou, fantastic !!!... I'll have the opportunity of being part of the team which will mantain and evolve one project in Eclipse, in this case concerning the modeling world :D.

MDT-OCL, is a subproject in Eclipse oriented to provide an implementation of the OMG's standard Object Constraint Language (OCL). This kind of languages (for constraining models) are a cornerstone in the modeling world, because they are required to have a well defined model which is able to describe a complex system.

Models are everywhere
April is finishing so I have had to rush to my month's entry. Yeah, I would have liked to write more frequently but there are a lot of things to do and there is not to much avaiable time for them. Anyway, I like to keep my promises, so I have had to sacrifice some entertainments for this week end, such as the traditional Romeria de Tegueste. I hope to finally go the next year ;)

I would like to talk a little bit about models, mainly, because it's the world in which I'm completely immersed in my daily job. I have said (unconsciously?) some times that models are everywhere, actually, this blog's title announce that models are the key. I'll try to explain that, or at least, give my point of view about why models are so important in our world.
